Protector
Why Should Carpet & Fabric Protectors Be Applied?
Some consumers think that having carpet protectors applied is just another ploy the carpet cleaner uses to get more money from them and that these products are unnecessary. Unfortunately, this feeling has occurred because unscrupulous or uneducated cleaners have misrepresented these products in the past or have applied them incorrectly. However, we believe so strongly in the value of products like Teflon and Scotchgard, that we apply them on the carpets in our own home each time we clean them and encourage our clients to do the same. We’ve experimented on our own carpets by not applying protector and by using protector and have noted a definite positive difference in our carpet’s appearance and cleanability when using protector. So what are the reasons you should always get carpet protector?
REDUCES PERMANENT STAINS
Protector fills in spaces on fibers so that spilled liquids can be more easily blotted before they have a chance to penetrate and stain
HELPS SAVE YOUR TRAFFIC AREAS FROM BEING DESTROYED
Protector bonds to carpet so dust, dirt, and sand can’t—therefore it can be vacuumed away much more easily and this is a good thing because sand and dry soil in carpet act like abrasive sandpaper, scratching carpet fibers and dulling their lustre. This cutting action wears fibers and shortens carpet life as well as making the traffic pattern ugly..
MAKES SPOTS EASIER TO REMOVE
Spots release more easily so less cleaning agent and agitation is needed–this is good because fibers are not distorted and there is less chance of resoiling due to excess cleaning agent left in carpet. Not to mention less time and effort goes into removing spots.
YOUR NEXT PROFESSIONAL CLEANING IS MORE EFFECTIVE
More soil can be removed and is not ground into carpet fibers, making carpet cleaner and cleaner looking
HELPS AVOID SERVICE CALLS.
You will be able to remove more spills and spots yourself (and don’t forget to use the spotter we leave with you when we clean your carpet–it’s great stuff!)
Some consumers wonder why they need protector if the carpet has “built in” protector when they buy the carpet. This is because over a period of 6 months to 2 years (depending on amount of traffic on carpet) a significant amount of factory applied protector can be worn away. Also, if very high alkaline cleaners have been used on your carpets by yourself or another cleaner, some of the factory protector will be stripped.
Carpet manufacturers recommend reapplication of carpet protector following cleaning to keep warranties in effect and to keep carpet looking good.
All Pro Carpet Cleaners is an authorized applicator for all carpet protectors.
